Programs like the Youth Hunter Education Challenge, Refuse To Be A Victim®, National School Shield® and more—along with the Eddie Eagle GunSafe® message, firearms safety and training delivered by NRA Certified Instructors and Range Safety officers, political efforts by the NRA Institute for Legislative Action and many other essential aspects of teaching and preserving our Second Amendment freedoms and traditions—reach hundreds of thousands of people every year.
Inspired by all of the passionate men, women and youth who participate in these activities and exercise their right to bear arms, the NRA has proudly launched the inaugural NRA 100K Challenge.
In today’s ever-changing world of social media and the anonymity it breeds, the NRA seeks to recognize the Second Amendment supporters who use their voices to impact the future of our firearm freedoms. Hence, the NRA 100K Challenge was born to provide a platform for meaningful interaction between our fellow freedom lovers—a way to share thoughts and opinions and challenge each other to join or renew NRA membership.
The Challenge: 100,000 NRA Members in 100 Days
One hundred thousand members in 100 days breaks down to 1,000 members per day, 42 members per hour, or less than one member per minute. The program launched on April 11, 2018, so we have until July 19to sign up 100,000 members and reach our goal. That’s where you come in!
The Plan: Spread the Word, Share the Mission
Take advantage of discounted membership rates to join or renew today, then spread the word on your social media pages to encourage others to join the NRA and the 100K Challenge conversation—like, share and tweet the way to 100K!
The NRA 100K Challenge boils down to one idea: don’t underestimate the power of individual voices joining together to make an impact. The battle to defend our Second Amendment may be tough, but NRA members are steadfast in their commitment to each other and to our organization.
The powerful drive to restore our freedom—to restore our rights to protect ourselves and the people we love—strengthens with every new member. Bringing a new member on board is one of the most important ways you can be involved with the NRA, and personally introducing someone to our organization will prove to be one of the most rewarding experiences you can have as a member.

The Goal: Strengthen Second Amendment Support
What happens when that 100K Challenge is met? The NRA will be 100,000 members stronger going into this year’s mid-term elections! Every election is incredibly important, and this one is no different.
“The threat to our Second Amendment has never been greater,” urges Jason Brown, NRA Media Relations Manager. “The enemies of freedom are well-organized and well-funded, and it’s our responsibility to fight back. The Second Amendment needs all of us, now more than ever. Please join us.”
Our success comes not only through the swing of a gavel or a piece of legislation, but also from our ability to connect with the people around the country—NRA members and non-members alike. Even those who don’t participate or join during the Challenge will see our messaging and hopefully be encouraged to think about, learn about and talk about the NRA—and perhaps join with us down the road. Add your voice to the NRA 100K Challenge today and help us grow in numbers and strength!
