November 10-11, 3GN Nationals, presented by NRA Sports, heads to The Clinton House Plantation, a sprawling 2,000-acre property that offers hunting, fishing, sporting clays and, of course, 3-Gun competition. 3-Gun Nation plans to use much of the natural terrain available to put on our National Championship event. So get ready to be tested, and maybe even a little punished, as 3GN goes BIG for Nationals. Big stages, big movement, big round counts and more. This is 3GN Nationals after all. You’re gonna have to earn it.
The Challenge
3GN Regional Series Director Larry Goedhart is pulling out all the stops for 3GN Nationals, presented by NRA Sports. With a round count planned for around 600 rounds, be ready to stay on the trigger. Goedhart is shooting for 200 rifle, 250 pistol, 150 birdshot and 20 slugs for a match that could possibly include as many as 10 stages of fire.
Better still, target presentations are going to be challenging, as all 3GN specialty targets in inventory will see the field, including the infamous 3GN Death Star, polish plate racks, MGM Spinners, Texas Stars and more. Combine that with what promises to be a punishing amount of movement over natural terrain, the challenge of long-range rifle targets, and offhand rifle challenges, and 3GN Nationals will be one tough 3-Gun challenge.
We’ve got a big weekend planned, and we can promise you one thing – it’s gonna be a lot of fun. After registration and stage-walking is complete, we’ll kick off the fun with BBQ at The Clinton House Friday night. Come by, hang out and meet the staff and fellow competitors, for a free night of BBQ, beverages and fun.
On Sunday night, Tom Fuller and the gang from Armageddon Gear will be with us again. We’re not quite sure what he has planned as of yet, but if it’s anything like the dinner, drinks and awards from the South Regional, hanging with Fuller is well worth the price of admission.
Unlike previous seasons, 3-Gun Nation has waived the qualification system for 3GN Nationals. This enables any and all competitors to register now for 3GN’s season-ending event. 3GN Shoot-Offs are planned throughout the weekend, for both class and division qualifiers, meaning there will be plenty of opportunities for extra shooting!
After listening to input from members, 3GN Nationals, presented by NRA Sports, will now be a two-day event, not three. A lot of folks asked for the shorter match format, making time away from work and family more manageable. You asked, so we delivered! 3GN Nationals will now take place Saturday-Sunday, Nov. 10-11, with awards taking place Sunday evening.
