NRA Mobile Tactical Range Experience and UTM Bring Hands-On Training to NRA Carry Guard Expo

The first-ever NRA Carry Guard Expo, running Aug. 25-27 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is the nation’s premier personal protection, self-defense and concealed carry destination, uniting the best products, education, training and expertise from the growing personal defense market under one roof. The experience doesn’t end at seeing and listening – visitors are able to get hands-on with firearms, testing the skills on a large range inside the Wisconsin Center, and all while doing so safely, thanks to Ultimate Training Munitions technology.

The NRA Mobile Tactical Range Experience brings the interactive shooting experience from the range right inside the NRA Carry Guard Expo Exhibit Hall, allows guests to the Expo to shoot a variety of firearms using UTM’s safe simulation ammunition. The range boasts two large shoot houses featuring various scenarios, alongside six standard shooting lanes with steel targets.

Firearms include Sig Sauer’s P226 and P320 pistols, the 516 rifle and the MCX Virtus rifle. IWI fans can shoot the Tavor bullpup, while Springfield Armory offers the chance to fire the Saint AR-pattern rifle. Daniel Defense and Taurus also have AR-pattern rifles available to use on the range. Each firearm features a UTM conversion kit, allowing real centerfire guns to fire the simulation-safe UTM training ammo. The UTM kits are built with safety in mind, featuring a live round-lockout that prevents live ammo from being fired in the gun once the conversion kit is installed.

The UTM ammo is low-powered and safe to be used in simulation environments and properly designed and staffed indoor ranges like the NRA Mobile Tactical Range Experience. However, using genuine firearms – the same firearms popular with so many shooting sports enthusiasts today – allows users to get valuable experience on the gun, simulating live fire as accurately as possible within the Expo floor.
