Since the Great American Outdoor Show opened on Saturday, Feb 4, over 3,000 kids have had the chance to go through and experience the Eddie Eagle Kid Zone. Many walking away with a smile on their (painted) face and their own Eddie Eagle goodies!
If there's one thing that's certain, it's kids, and kids at heart, love Eddie Eagle and the Wing Team. He's more than just a bird that has a catchy tune, he is a role model that shares a very important message on gun safety:
STOP. DON'T TOUCH. RUN AWAY. TELL A GROWN UP!
With over 200,000 attendees at the Great American Outdoor Show every year, many make it a family affair. One day at the Show is just not enough to see everything, so many plan for at least two days, or even a weekend. With that in mind, it was important for us to make this event as family-friendly as possible and have something for all ages.
This year, the Eddie Eagle Kid Zone, a new attraction to the Show featured a whole area of kid-friendly fun! From face painting to wildlife identification to a fan favorite, the basketball challenge. Kids of all ages have the opportunity to enjoy a little bit of everything from arts and crafts to the outdoor lifestyle all while learning Eddie Eagle's life-saving message.
Here are some activities you can find at the Eddie Eagle Kid Zone: Eddie Eagle Photo Booth, Wildlife Ring Toss, Face Painting, Lego Table, Wildlife Identification, Corn Pit, Eddie Eagle Color Area, and the Eddie's Basketball Challenge.
The Eddie Eagle Kid Zone is located in the West Wing of the Outfitters/Hunting Hall and will be there all week. It is open as long as the Show is open. Be sure to bring the kids by for some education, entertainment and prizes!
