5 Things to Know About the NRA World Shooting Championship

World Shooting Champion. The title isn’t to be taken lightly. The one who earns the title will have excelled in not one, not two, but nearly all shooting disciplines.

The NRA World Shooting Championship will be held September 15 - 17, 2016 at the Peacemaker National Training Center in Glengary, WV. The best of the best will come out to compete in a competition unlike any other. Check out the list below to find out what makes this shooting competition so unique:

1. You’ll compete in 12 stages that include virtually every type of major firearms shooting sport

The World Shooting Champion isn’t just an expert in one discipline, but all of them. It’s your time to show off your skills in 3-Gun, Wobble Clays, .22 Rimfire, Cowboy Acton, and USPSA to name a few.

2. You don’t have to be a pro to compete

That’s right! Both amateurs and professionals are welcome to compete. You have the option of competing in one of three divisions: Amateur, Stock Professional, and Open Professional.

3. The only equipment you’ll need are eyes and ears

If you registered for the Amateur or Stock Professional divisions, all firearms and ammunition will be provided! Just be sure to bring your eyes and ears. And maybe some sunblock.

4. You’ll have the chance to win $250,000 in cash and prizes

You read that right. Prizes include $25,000 and the title of World Shooting Champion for first place, $5,000 for second place, $4,000 for third place, and much more!

5. Your favorite companies are sponsoring

We’re happy to announce that this year, Kimber and Nightforce will be the presenting sponsors for the competition. They are also joined by 32 other sponsors. Does Magpul, Smith & Wesson, Daniel Defense, or Glock ring any bells?

That's the NRA World Shooting Championship in a nut shell. Get more details about the competition here. See y’all next week!
