This week we recognize Chairman Mike Odell, volunteer of 2 years with the Pelican State, Louisiana Friends of NRA!
During his service, Mike has sold over 25 sponsorships totaling in excess of $30,000, established upper level sponsorships, and spent over 120 hours preparing for the local Friends of NRA event.
NRA Field Representative Chad Bowen shared, “In only his 6th year as a volunteer, Mike took over one of the largest events in the nation and immediately made it better! The committee has established a “Memory Wall” where folks can honor a lost loved one by purchasing a spot on the wall in memory of the loved one. "Mike will be quick to tell you that he could not do the job alone and will give the praise to his great committee." Each year more names will be added as a tribute to someone lost. Mike will be quick to tell you that he could not do the job alone and will give the praise to his great committee. A humble family man with a contagious smile and a never tiring work ethic is what makes him the man and the leader that he is. Mike says “I do it for the kids” meaning he desires to raise enough money to keep the shooting sports alive in Louisiana.
He's generous and always willing to lend a helping hand when needed and even attended another Friends of NRA banquet just two days before his own event to show his support to a fellow volunteer. He also is a delegate for the Louisiana State Fund Committee. Mike's an extremely good steward of the grant money and spends it wisely. He constantly thinks outside the box and is open with his committee and me. Mike is an overall outstanding individual and leader and I'm excited to see what he'll accomplish next."
