This week we recognize Chairman David Sikes, volunteer of 1 year with the River Region, Alabama Friends of NRA!
During his service, David has sold 40 banquet tickets bringing in $2,000, sold 15 sponsorships equaling $8,000, and acquired multiple donations valued over $1,500.
NRA Field Representative Gene Newman shared, “This insurance professional is well-known to many in our state and to local leaders through representing them, or through joint memberships in several professional organizations, including the Alabama Wildlife Federation.“David is well known around his community for his leadership in multiple organizations, which helps to push the success of this committee.” David has held many leadership positions in these organizations and is considered a “go to” guy when you want something done. He is also very active in several self-defense shooting clubs and groups.
David started preparing for his new committee over a year prior to the event. He attended several other Friends of NRA events to see how and why they did certain things for the banquets. David organized and manned two Bass Pro NRA displays/membership drives this summer, is constantly seeking ways to showcase the NRA in any way he can, and is always available to assist in any way needed. “If you want something done, give it to a busy man,” certainly personifies the drive and passion David Sikes has for the Friends of NRA. This business professional believes he can make it happen – and he darn sure does! David is an invaluable volunteer for so many Friends of NRA endeavors in Alabama!”
