Gun of the Day: Colt Second Model Dragoon Revolver

This Dragoon was part of a militia issue to the state of New Hampshire during the 1850s. Massachusetts also ordered a few .44 caliber Dragoon revolvers. About 2,700 examples of this Colt percussion model were manufactured from 1850 to 1851. The Second Model was also the last Dragoon to be produced with the square-back trigger guard.
