This week we recognize Chairman Katherine Hinton, volunteer of three years with the Adobe Walls, West Texas Friends of NRA!
During her service, Katherine has sold 878 banquet tickets which raised $175,000, sold 77 individual tables totaling $63,800, raised $23,000 in pre and post-event raffles, acquired 93 donations valued over $22,000, and arranged for the underwriting of 27 items totaling $5,200.
NRA Field Representative Jack Cannon shared, "Kathy volunteered to become the Chairman of this committee after attending just two Friends of NRA banquets. For her, this pretty much becomes a full-time job with starting event preparations 120 days out from the banquet – 50-60 hours a week for 120 days. Kathy took what was normally a smaller event and created new invite lists in order to grow the event. Kathy’s enthusiasm for the Friends of NRA program is infectious! In addition to organizing the lists, Kathy's enlisted the assistance of a premier class III dealer in the panhandle to help spread the word. She’s continued to go above and beyond by single-handedly placing more than 150 posters around an area more than 50 miles away as well as handling several phone and radio interviews - all to promote and benefit the event.
Her enthusiasm for the Friends of NRA program is infectious! Kathy is always looking for new ideas, places, and products that would help this banquet succeed. More importantly, she wants ALL of the banquets in West Texas (Area 47) to succeed. If assistance is needed, she’s willing to step up and help without hesitation. Kathy is a true gift and deserves to be the Volunteer of the Year. She’s the type of volunteer that could and will be in the running for the VOY every year!"
