This week we recognize Chairman Michael Kamer, volunteer of 7 years with the Northern Kentucky Friends of NRA!
During his service, Michael has sold 80 banquet tickets which raise $4,000, sold 6 sponsorships totaling $10,500, raised $17,000 in pre and post-event raffles, and acquired 25 donations amounting to $4,500.
NRA Field Representative John LaRowe shared, “Mike is an amazing ambassador for Friends of NRA, he is constantly sharing the benefits of the program and the fun and fellowship found at the events with others. He is the primary auctioneer for this event, and visits several gun clubs and conservation organizations in the area to spread awareness. He ensures grant recipients are represented at the event to receive their grant checks. Mike has donated over 300 hundred hours to this event. “Mike is a shining example of the team spirit that is growing across Kentucky’s Friends of NRA committees.” He is a shining example of the team spirit that is growing across Kentucky’s Friends of NRA committees, and has not only attended other banquets this year, but has assisted when needed with games, walk-through raffles, and even as the auctioneer at three other events.”
"Mike is an avid shooter and hunter, working tirelessly as both a trap coach and parent; with two sons that are competitive shooters in local, regional, and national events, he is always eager to assist other members of their club to improve their skills. He has shared his professional selling skills as one of the best-received instructors at this year’s volunteer workshop, with several committees asking him to travel to their local meetings to share the same class. Mike is pictured holding the first copy he’d seen of Traditions Magazine with his daughter Michaela singing “The Star Spangled Banner” at the Foundation Banquet in Kentucky."
