The Oregon Friends of NRA are proud to announce the recipients of its 2015 Scholarship Program. Twenty $1,000 scholarships were awarded to deserving students throughout the state for their outstanding roles in their communities and support for the Second Amendment. Scholarships will be applied to furthering the students’ education in college or technical/vocational school.
Established in 2012, funding for the annual Scholarship Program comes from Friends of NRA fundraising events held across Oregon. A total of $50,000 has been awarded throughout the program’s history, with support growing each year.
"The Oregon Friends of NRA State Funding Committee feels very strongly about investing in our youth.” says Dr. Maurizio Valerio, Chairman of the Oregon Friends of NRA Scholarship Committee. “We are excited to sponsor our Oregon Friends of NRA Scholarship Program and we are honored to direct some of the funds raised in our state toward higher education”.
Scholarship applications are evaluated on six criteria: School Grade, Extracurricular Community Volunteerism and Sports Activities, an Essay, a Personal Statement, Letter of Recommendation, and Extra points.
