Bagram, Afghanistan - The front line on the Global War on Terrorism. Philip Schreier - reporting.

Task Force Warrior at Bagram Air Field is holding a 5K race on Tuesday 18 August to honor the memory of fallen Task Force members. NRAblog.com and NRA Publications are sponsoring the event, providing tee shirts and a Springfield XDm pistol from Springfield Armory. Steve Wilson, an NRA Field Representative covering the state of California, also sent 400 NRA travel mugs for the race participants.

Pre-registration set new records for an event of this nature at Bagram Air Field with more than 850 soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines signing up to participate. Tonight we handed out runners numbers to the pre-registered. The air is abuzz with excitement as interservice rivalries and personal ambitions gear up for a race that would prove difficult even under the best of conditions.
